Leonard Slatkin will lead the NHK Symphony Orchestra’s concerts in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka November 18 through November 27. The orchestra will present two programs. The first comprises the complete ballet versions of Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Rodeo, which will be performed November 18 and 19 at NHK Hall in Tokyo. The second program features the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with soloist Ray Chen and two works by Vaughan Williams: Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus and Symphony No. 5. This program will be played on November 23 and 24 in Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, November 26 in Osaka, and November 27 in Fukuoka.
