Royal Starr Film Festival at Emagine Royal Oak, 200 N Main St, Royal Oak, MI

The acclaimed film Samuel Barber: Absolute Beauty by H. Paul Moon is a probing exploration of Barber's music and melancholia. Performance, oral history, musicology, and biography combine to explore the life and music of one of America’s greatest composers. Leonard Slatkin, who is featured in the film, will attend the screening, participate in a discussion, and sign copies of his new book, Leading Tones.
