Virtuosic British violinist Nigel Kennedy returns to the United States following an 18-year absence to perform exclusively with Maestro Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. The program includes Schumann’s Manfred Overture and William Schuman’s third symphony, followed by Kennedy’s original Dedications series, a celebration of the composer and violinist’s musical heroes. Performances will take place on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 at 8 pm in Orchestra Hall.
